About the Artist

Short Biography

I evolved into a hat maker/milliner over years of theater/performance, hand-felting, and surface design. My hats are unique because of my use of nuno-felting, botanical printing, and/or dyeing with rust and indigo.

Performance taught me the rhetorical lift a hat will give you, like an elevator into the art of living. When I craft a hat I create context: I allude to history through shape and details, such as veiling…I can reference nature, film/art, and history - adding expression to the function of hats.
