Carol Acquilano

Painter, Printmaker, Book Artist

My creative process is an act of self-actualization with imagery that is both representational and abstract. In the studio I often find myself working without a plan and in-the-moment creative flow, where I long to be. Being drawn to working outdoors, I allow myself to invent motifs and take liberties with the visual-ness of my experience.

Artist Statement

Carol began her formal training at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston majoring in Fine Arts and Art Glass. A semester abroad introduced her to Italy, where she has since returned numerous times. An avid outdoor painter, she has explored many places near her home base and abroad with painting-rig in tow. She has an extensive collection of sketchbook imagery that reflects these experiences. Her studio practice includes many facets of printmaking, painting and book arts.
