About the Artist
Artist Statement
I see things in terms of color and shape, and find abstract design in our everyday world. Sometimes I enjoy using surprising combinations to suggest another imaginary world. Interior views and still life objects are subjects to which I am frequently drawn, but I have done everything from home exteriors to foliage to hard edged abstraction.
Biosketch
After graduating from Nazareth College, I secured an Art Teacher position with Wheatland-Chili High School. While there, for the next 6 years, I attended Rochester Institute of Technology and obtained my Masters of Science in Teaching in Studio Art and an MFA majoring in painting and minoring in photography. For a number of years I continued to do a variety of enterprises, including some illustration work for the print shop at the Genesee Country Village Museum, teaching drawing at the Brighton Senior Citizen Center, and some artistic applications while a clerk at the Henrietta Public Library. Then a sweet thing happened: I was hired by the Memorial Art Gallery, first in their Library, then in the Advancement Office where I have been ever since.
Now I am happily a "member" of this terrific group of talented and dedicated artists here at Anderson Alley, where I look forward to realizing all things visual and creative.
